Optimum Omega Nutrition for shrimp
Key findings:
- Current research suggests that optimum dietary EPA + DHA requirements of shrimp is not less than 0.4-0.6% of diet and up to 1.1% of diet in some cases. More research is needed to define the optimum ratios for essential fatty acids throughout the life cycle
- The ratio of EPA:DHA is important to the health and welfare of shrimp, in addition to the total amount of EPA+DHA in the diet.
- The optimum Omega-3 : Omega-6 ratio is recommended to be kept at >2:1.
