Collaboration along the food chain

Veramaris participates at the North Atlantic Seafood Forum in Bergen, Norway

We are humbled to have been invited to the 14th NASF conference in Bergen, Norway – the world’s largest seafood business conference – to discuss both opportunities and challenges facing the continued growth of aquaculture. The Norwegian salmon industry is a primary example of how innovation and collaboration can lead to success.

In cooperation with respected speakers and seafood companies, Veramaris will have an active part at the NASF.

Veramaris CEO Karim Kurmaly will be on the panel speaking at the Sustainability Workshop on March 7th, chaired by Andrea Weber, Director Corporate Responsibility, Metro AG, Germany.

The talk entitled “Healthy fish, healthy food, healthy oceans” is an answer to the current challenges facing the aquaculture industry. People around the world are longing for healthy and nutritious seafood that is rich in essential omega-3 fatty acids EPA & DHA. At the same time, they are asking for sustainably sourced food products. Appreciating the role of the Norwegian salmon industry in adopting new technologies, Karim will speak about Veramaris’ novel and sustainable natural marine algal oil and how this solution can help contribute to conserve marine biodiversity and close the demand supply gap for omega-3 EPA & DHA.

Veramaris will exhibit in the foyer of the conference venue at Radisson Blu with an interactive booth headlined “Discover the world of Veramaris”. The photo booth allows visitors to take pictures and have them immediately printed. In addition, the booth also offers useful information, amongst which is an interactive touchpad that visualizes the story of Veramaris and shows the fermentation of our natural marine algal oil.

On March 7, Veramaris will host the “Laks for Life”-Luncheon (by invitation only) at the North Atlantic Seafood Forum. The panel discussion on the future of sustainable aquaculture will take place during our Luncheon. On stage: Karim Kurmaly (Veramaris), Ivar Wulff (Leroy), Kristian Botnen (Lingalaks), Mads Martinsen (Skretting), and Ole-Alexander Palm (PwC).
