Evonik awarded for its continued commitment to Nebraska
The Nebraska Diplomats have awarded Evonik the honor of “Outstanding Nebraska Business of the Year” for its continued commitment and expansion in Nebraska, USA.
Nicole Rudningen, Site Manager of Evonik’s Blair Plant, accepted the award on behalf of Evonik from Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts and Jane McDaniel, President of the Nebraska Diplomats.
Recently, Evonik and DSM have together invested US$200 million to build the production facility of the joint venture, Veramaris in Blair. It’s here, Veramaris will produce the two essential omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA from natural marine algae through large-scale fermentation, and commercial quantities of algal rich in EPA and DHA will be available in 2019 for application in animal nutrition.
The Nebraska Diplomats Inc. is the largest economic development organization in Nebraska with a membership of more than 286 business executives and community leaders.
